Kati Basti

Dr. Suraj explains that the process of applying heat to the sacral or lumber region of the body by retaining warm medicated oils, on that area, is popularly known by the name KATI BASTI. Kati basti is a localized form of svedana procedure. As warm oil is used to apply heat, this is considered as a variety of snigdha sveda

ANSA BASTI (Shoulder)

In this ayurvedic massage, Dr. Suraj ensures that the collar bone area and the spinal cord area are well massaged according to the principles of Ansa Basti procedure. This is a stress relieving shoulder massage that revitalizes the entire spinal cord area and makes the mind feel fresh and energetic.

GREEVA BASTI (Neck)

In this procedure Dr. Suraj bathes the back of the neck using warm medicated oil or herbal decoction for 20 to 30 minutes. Dr. Suraj admonishes that this type of neck pain can be a symptom of a more serious problem requiring medical treatment and it’s also caused by disc degeneration, narrowing of the spinal column or backbone. Greeva Basti procedure provides some relief in this area.

HRUT BASTI (Heart)

Dr. Suraj Mirashi explains that the Hrut Basti therapy begins with Udvartana, an perfumed scrub smelling of lavender and cardamom, used to detoxify the tissues, augment circulation, break-up cellulite and decrease lethargy. This is followed by an hour long oil massage infused with rose and sandalwood. Next, a warm damn is built around your heart center close to one of your nipples and filled with medicinal oils, aromas, and herbs that bring attention and healing to the heart. Therapy concludes with steam bath or infared sauna treatment.

 

JANU BASTI (Knee)

Dr. Suraj says that Janu Basti is a special ayurvedic treatment which offers relief from hurting of knee joints and osteo arthritis of the knee joints. Dr. Suraj affirms that the treatment also strengthens the knee joint by improving blood circulation. Warm medicated oil or herbal decoctions are used for the process.

 

 

KATI BASTI (Back)

This is a special system intended at providing relief to the lower back using warm medicated oils or herbal decoctions when bathing the lower back for 20 to 30 minutes.
